Spring is a particularly beautiful time for family photography around London, with Magnolias, Cherry Blossoms and Daffodils everywhere. And Kew Gardens is one of those places that never disappoints! Early April, with the air still crisp, cherry blossoms beginning to appear, so as the bluebells, all of which are slowly waking up the the gardens with colour. For this lovely family, the gardens already held many meaningful memories, so choosing Kew Gardens for their family photography session in spring, felt really personal — a familiar place where their son could run, explore and simply be himself, exactly as their usual weekends.
I met this wonderful family at the entrance of the Kew Gardens, where we first had to return their football back home as the balls are not allowed, then within minutes of walking the conversation flowed so easily that it felt as if I was meeting old friends. We wandered through the gardens together, talking and pausing here and there as their little man ran ahead, exploring every corner and filling the paths with his energy and curiosity, while his parents had a chance to pause to watch those fleeting in-between moments.
The laughter, the running, the way they move,
exactly as they are in this season.
simple memories matter!
If you are thinking about capturing your family memories, at Kew Gardens or any other favourite location, Spring would make a stunning background.
And just like that, a simple walk became a collection of moments we’ll always remember. The laughter, the play, the little triumphs — all captured, ready to be cherished for years to come. If you’d like to preserve your family’s own spring memories in this same way, I’d love to walk, play, and capture them with you.
for you and your next generations!
